Dear Friend,
Your creativity extends beyond generating innovative ideas or producing art; it begins with finding your creative identity. When you do this, it shapes how you see the world, the kind of solutions you produce, and the impact you will leave behind. Clarity about who you are helps align your creative abilities and ventures with your identity, giving you a voice distinct from others.

Finding Your Creative Identity
If you have not taken time to do this before, it is imperative that you find your creative identity. Doing this uncovers your unique voice and influences your vision and values. Finding your creative identity requires taking specific steps, which I call the pillars of creative identity.
Check below for five of these pillars.
Outline your values: Your values are the compass that guides your creativity, shapes your choices, and determines the projects you pursue. Take time to identify your values, write them down, and make them part of who you are.
Determine your voice: Your voice is how you express your ideas and perspectives. Reflect inward to determine your voice. Find it, and you can build trust with your audience in a unique manner.
State your vision: When your creativity is tied to a vision, it becomes more powerful. Vision is what gives you direction, transforming your creativity into a force for impact and legacy. Write down your vision, and begin working towards it.
Consistency: Consistency makes you show up regardless of the surrounding challenges. It is the essence that drives you towards actualizing your vision. Commit to showing up daily, notwithstanding what is going on around.
Adaptability: You cannot afford to be rigid if you want to be a successful creative. Your journey will evolve, and you must be ready to embrace change. Be open to change while maintaining your values.
Action Points
To begin finding your creative identity, commit to these tasks:
Write down three values that guide your life and creativity.
Identify one story or experience that has shaped your perspective.
Audit your recent creative work to know if it reflects your authentic voice.
Define the impact you want your creativity to have at the end of the year.
Share one piece of work publicly that feels most aligned with your identity.
Write your answers down and begin working towards them. Remember, your creative identity anchors you as you navigate your creative journey.
With love,
Rotimi Kehinde.
