Searching for Purpose? This Might Be Your Turning Point

Struggling to discover purpose? Open this.

Dear Friend,

As we approach the second half of 2025, it's a great time to take a moment and reflect on what you've accomplished so far. In doing so, one of the essentials to watch out for is whether you are fulfilling your purpose. This is where many people may hit a brick wall, and I’d tell you why.

For most people, the expectation is that finding purpose is often met with a sudden “aha moment!” Interestingly, purpose seldom presents itself in that way. Why? It is more of a journey than a destination. If you have been struggling with finding purpose, I’d share a few tips to help you out in this newsletter.

Discovering Purpose - Not As Difficult As You Think

A very popular saying about purpose is one by the late Myles Munroe that states, “When purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable.” As such, it is essential to discover one's purpose early enough, or else abusing one's abilities, resources, and opportunities becomes inevitable.

This brings us to the question that bugs most individuals, whether they are young, old, rich, middle-class, male, or female: How do I find my purpose?

Discovering your purpose shouldn’t be as difficult as we make it. The reason it seems both confusing and stressful is that we have made the whole subject overly complicated. Here’s the truth: when God created you, He infused in you the innate desire to fulfill purpose. You are here for a reason, and your mind keeps seeking it till you find it.

Once you understand it this way, you’d see that discovering purpose is not so difficult. Most times, it lies in something you have done all your life. All you need to do is discover why you have that gift, who you need to serve and bless with that gift, and what is the relevance of that gift to God’s grand plan.

With this knowledge, you’d see that purpose will never be completely revealed. It is a journey that will progress over time. As such, what you see as purpose today may become so minute in a few months because you’d have grown past it into something bigger. Here are a few things that point you towards purpose:

  • Consistent passions or interests: If something has tugged at your heart for years—be it writing, helping others, building things, or solving problems—that’s not random. It’s often a clue.

  • Natural talents and gifts: We’re all uniquely wired. The things you do with ease, what others compliment or seek your help for, might be tools for impact, not just hobbies.

  • Burdens you can't ignore: What breaks your heart or stirs righteous anger? Purpose often rises from your desire to solve problems and bring healing.

  • Moments of deep fulfillment: Pay attention to the times when your soul feels full. It’s not always flashy, but that “this is what I was made for” feeling is a powerful indicator.

  • Doors that keep opening: If opportunities keep showing up in a particular area, don’t ignore the pattern. Sometimes, God confirms purpose by repeating the invitation.
